    The HKS Alumni Network of San Francisco ("HKSSF") is dedicated to supporting alumni in the greater San Francisco Bay Area in furtherance of the mission of Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government: to improve public policy and public leadership so that people can live in societies that are safer, freer, more just, and more sustainably prosperous.

    Next Event: April 11 in San Francisco

    Join Joseph Kalt and Megan Minoka Hill as they discuss the HKS Project on Indigenous Governance and Development, whose mission is to arm Indigenous Nations with the tools needed to govern effectively and to strengthen their economic, social, and cultural fabrics. A reception following their talk will give you the chance to connect with other alumni.

    Leonard Adler, MPP '91

    Chair, Communications

     

    Leonard is a social entrepreneur that has worked in sectors including law, sustainability, and health & wellness. He is CEO of Green Jobs Network and founder of SF Runs. He previously served on the Executive Board from 2018-2020.

    Tasce Bongiovanni, MD, MPP '10

    Secretary

     

    Tasce serves as a trauma surgeon at Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG) and an acute care surgeon and surgical critical care intensivist at UCSF. She lives in San Francisco with her husband (MPP '06) and three children. She is excited to be able to serve the HKS SF chapter and the HKS Alumni Board in Cambridge to foster community among HKS alum.

    Andrea Shorter, HKSEE '09

    Co-Chair, Events

     

    Andrea is an organizational development and strategic planning consultant for social impact organizations concerning racial, gender, and LGBTQ+ justice, equity, and inclusion. A former long time Commissioner on the Status of Women in San Francisco, she is a 2009 David Bohnett Fellow for LGBTQ+ Leaders in HKS Senior Executive Education.

    Natasha Sunderji, MPP '12

    Treasurer

     

    Natasha is a Managing Director at Accenture and serves as the Global Health Lead for their social impact practice. She works to address global development challenges in collaboration with the world’s leading companies, donors, and nonprofits. She is excited to foster a meaningful community for our Bay Area alumni.

    Jon Elam, MC/MPA '81

    Board Member At Large

     

    Jon is a retired local and regional public administrator with a focus on the areas of climate management, public works, and community development. He lives in Brentwood in the East Bay, where he is an active community volunteer, and he serves on the Board of Directors of La Clinica de La Raza community health center in Oakland. He has enjoyed meeting many HKS graduates and looks forward to welcoming others to HKS SF events.
