We are pleased to announce that the HKS Alumni Network of the San Francisco Bay Area has elected four new co-chairs for its 2018 Executive Board.
Leonard Adler MPP 1991
CEO, Green Jobs Network
Adler has worked for organizations in the nonprofit and private sectors, including Equal Justice Works, Net Impact, and FindLaw. He currently runs Green Jobs Network, which helps people who want to have a positive impact in the world find jobs and build their professional network. He is also a certified running coach and manages SF Runs, which produces running events. Adler received a JD from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was a Public Interest Law Scholar and co-founded the Georgetown Journal on Fighting Poverty. After graduating from law school, he served as an Echoing Green social entrepreneurship fellow. Adler holds a Master in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor's degree from Stanford University.
Tasce Bongiovanni MPP 2010
Surgical Critical Care and Trauma Surgery Fellow, University of California, San Francisco
Bongiovanni is a clinical fellow in surgical critical care and trauma surgery at University of California, San Francisco, based clinically at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. Bongiovanni obtained a BSc from Santa Clara University and a medical degree from University of California, San Francisco. She received an MPP from Harvard Kennedy School. She was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar at Yale University School of Medicine, where she worked with the Native population focusing on understanding barriers to organ transplantation in the Native population. Her work has also focused on health services research and costs of care. She lives in San Francisco with her husband (also an HKS graduate!) and three children.
Jessica Hing MC/MPA 2017
Environmental Scientist, Panorama Environmental, Inc.
Hing has a decade of experience in the environmental field. She has worked in both the private and public sectors at the local, national, and international levels. She previously worked at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a physical scientist in the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System stormwater unit, then as a specialist in the Office of Children’s Health Protection focusing on the Clean, Green and Healthy Schools Initiative as well as the President’s Task Force on Environmental Health and Safety Risks to Children. She is currently an environmental scientist with Panorama Environmental, Inc. She holds a Master in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School and a BA from Williams College.
MAY SAMALI MPP 2016
COO, New Ventures at High Resolves
May Samali is passionate about investing in people and ideas that can change the world. As Chief Operating Officer, New Ventures at High Resolves, Samali is responsible for building and spinning out a new technology platform for citizenship education across the US. She is also a Venture Partner at NextGen Venture Partners, a network-driven venture capital firm. Samali holds a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, and Bachelors of Laws and Economic & Social Sciences (First Class Honors & University Medal) from Sydney University. She is a John Monash Scholar and an Australian American Young Leadership Dialogue Fellow. She was a Gleitsman Leadership Fellow and a Social Enterprise Fellow at Harvard's Center for Public Leadership. Her work has been featured in media such as Forbes, TechCrunch, VentureBeat, and the Stanford Social Innovation Review.
